The recent and tragic deaths of police officers in Alberta and Quebec highlight the danger faced by every police officer every single day. The Vancouver Police Board extends its sincerest condolences to the families of the officers who gave their lives in the line of duty. They were there to protect the safety of their communities and they made the ultimate sacrifice in doing so.
We join in solidarity with police across the country who are honouring these brave officers. These tragedies affect every serving officer and their families. We recognize the commitment and dedication of our police and the support they receive from their families in pursuing their profession. Policing is a calling and we are thankful to those who respond to the call.
