The Board shares the views of the community that it is time to end the racism that exists in all facets of our society, including the justice system and police services.
As a Board, we collectively believe in the inherent dignity of every person, and are committed to our mission of providing independent civilian oversight, governance and strategic leadership to the VPD in order to reflect the needs, values, and diversity of Vancouver’s communities.
The Vancouver Police Board proudly serves the community and acknowledges that the City of Vancouver is located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Səl ̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations.
