
The Vancouver Police Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Kuzminski as the new Executive Director of the Vancouver Police Board. Jason has a varied background in public policy development, consultation and communications. He was recently the Director of Communications and Engagement for the Law Society of British Columbia and has been a policy and communications advisor for several provincial and federal ministries. Jason brings to the role a strong understanding of the justice system having worked with governmental and non-governmental organizations to facilitate the development of public policy across a range of issues. He has a law degree from the University of British Columbia and a Master’s degree from McMaster University. Jason will take up his position April 12.

There has been a great deal of public discussion around the Board’s request for a Director’s review of Vancouver City Council’s decision to reduce the Vancouver Police Department’s (VPD) 2021 budget as submitted by the Board and Director Rideout’s subsequent independent decision to reinstate the deficit.
